So you are planning your wedding in Ibiza?

Congratulations on choosing Ibiza as your wedding destination. So what comes next? Where to start?

We believe it is the best decision you have made, but keep in mind that planning a destination wedding can be sometimes quite challenging. Therefore, we have prepared a little guide which will try to highlight the most important aspects of organizing your special day abroad.

First of all, very important thing is to pick your date. I know it seems like an obvious thing, but here in Ibiza there`s a few things to highlight and be careful about. One of the first ones is price. This will change depending on if you wish to reserve within the high or low season.

Apart from the temperature on the island in different months (be very careful especially if you have many children and older people within your party as bear in mind it could be very difficult for them to spend a whole day outside without air-conditioning). If you pick July or August we would highly suggest providing your guests with fans and also loads of water.

Hotel accommodation, flights and car hire prices are all affected by the time of year with July and August being high season

Another aspect to be mindful about is when you send your invitations to guests. You have to keep in mind that organizing a wedding abroad might be a bit daunting for your family and friends as well as for you as it is not just coming to your wedding, coming to Ibiza will be for most of them their holiday for the summer and you should make sure to let them know far in advance as they need to book their flights and accommodation.

Your next big decision is the venue. You have to decide whether it will be a private villa wedding or you will look for a venue. If you decide for villa this might also provide accommodation at least for the closest family and friends. Extra things to think about will be outside catering and bar. Having a wedding planner is a great idea to help you organize all this.

You do not really need to worry about these things when renting a venue but the problem might be giving the venue your personal touch and also regulations they might have which you need to check before hand. On the other side one big plus is not have to worry about cleaning the next day for instance.

As you are planning abroad and a language might be a small problem it’s a good idea to hire a wedding planner. They can help you with such things as vendors. You should sign a contract for every single thing you need to hire or buy for the wedding and not only they can help with the translation and organizing but also they could suggest certain people who are reliable and they worked with them before.

Once you have it all planned it is only small bits and pieces to think about such as favors for example. You can bring them with you or you could have a look for local products as it could be very nice touch for your guests. A souvenir from your wedding and Ibiza all in one.

I hope this has been at least little bit helpful and if you have any other questions get in touch with us here at Mambo Weddings… happy wedding planning =)
